Artist, Maud Cotter in conversation with Hugh Lane Gallery Director, Barbara Dawson

Artist Maud Cotter making work in her studio.

Saturday 24th April, 2pm

Join Maud Cotter and Barbara Dawson live in conversation about the artist’s recent work in the context of her wider sculptural practice and upcoming exhibition at the Hugh Lane Gallery. Using materials gathered from a variety of sources, her surreal assemblages involve a process influenced by the concept of the readymade. The exhibition, a consequence of – a dappled world, is a solo presentation of a body of work in development by Cotter since 2015. The first site specific manifestation was exhibited in Limerick City Art Gallery; its second in The Dock, Carrick-on Shannon, and its third in the Hugh Lane Gallery opening on 2 June 2021 (subject to government restrictions). A catalogue documenting these exhibitions will be published by the three venues in July 2021.

The discussion was followed by a Q&A with the audience.
